Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Papers Submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:

  1. Papers should discuss the themes of Islamic Family Law, Islam and Gender Discource and Islamic Civil Law in the central focus of academic inquiry.
  2. Papers are written either in Indonesian, English or Arabic;
  3. Papers must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size;
  4. Papers lenght is about 5.000 - 10.000 words;
  5. All submission must include a 150-200 word abstract written in a paragraph, one spaced.
  6. Full name (s) of the author (s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution and complete address;
  7. All submission should be transilterated according to the Al-Marjan Style;
  8. Qur'an verses and hadisth texts must be noted by syakal and must be translated to Indonesian;
  9. Biblographical reference must be noted in footnote and bibliographi according to Al-Marjan: Journal of Islamic Family Law.
