Perceptions of Students in the IAIN Datuk Laksemana Bengkalis Regarding the Use of ICT in Arabic Language Learning

This study aims to determine the perceptions of students in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at IAIN Datuk Laksemana Bengkalis regarding the use of ICT in Arabic language learning. The background of this study is based on findings among students regarding obstacles in using ICT in Arabic language learning. This study uses a mixed method with an explanatory sequential approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through a questionnaire administered to 18 respondents and interviews with 6 student informants. Quantitative analysis results indicate that students' perceptions are generally positive, with a total perception score of 84% falling into the “good” category. Interview results indicate that students feel ICT enhances motivation and expands learning access, yet they still face challenges such as internet access, technological skills, social media distractions, and insufficient training in using technology. This study recommends enhancing training and providing technological facilities to optimize the utilization of ICT in Arabic language learning.
